1926 Classic Motor Yacht Wood Dream Boat Un-restored
This wonderful Vintage Cruiser is a rare find indeed. Nothing has been changed or since the boat was built in 1926. It is original right down to the Kermath Twin-ignition Model 35 gas engine. The engine was started last 3 years ago. This is a gasoline engine. Finding a never restored, un-molested original 1920s yacht is almost impossible these days. This is an extremely rare vessel, having a design very much like the Lake Union Dreamboats. This boat was designed and built by Fellows and Stewart in Southern California (of the good ole days) and has had only one owner until I brought the boat to Seattle. Of the many built by Fellows and Stewart built of this design, this is the only of like it to survive.
She is 32 feet in length and has a beam of 10 feet 6 inches. Draft is 3 feet. The hull planks are of Port Orford Cedar and the frames are steam bent oak. Original fasteners are galvanized nails. The helm is mahogany, and the interior is mahogany, and fir. Restoration has been started and she is under cover in dry dock in Seattle. This is a project boat and requires restoration. The transome is currently being replaced, the paint is being stripped from the hull and some planks will need replacing too. The cockpit and deckhouse are aft with sun roof and hard windshield and side windows for helm. Open sides and aft area can be enclosed with Isinglass. To port and starboard are bench seats, a fitted stool for helm and all-original controls and instrumentation. The galley is forward on the starboard side. To port on centerline is a table that is the top of the engine box To port and aft is the head with original sink, hand pump and toilet.
The salon is forward with curtains and port and starboard settees and centerline folding table. The backs of the settees lift up to provide two additional berths. There are shelves with fiddles port and starboard and round bronze ports. The V-berth is forward with two single berths and chain locker, port holes and storage. There is a butterfly hatch over the salon and an original bronze clock with external bell and a barometer on the aft bulkhead.
