The Red Bank Yacht Works made a large number of boats in New Jersey up until the 1950′s. This is the last remaining boat of its class known to exist.  The condition is exceptional/amazing for a boat of this vintage.  This boat has a clean survey. I had the hull stripped to the bare wood and a seven-coat paint job. The shaft log was replaced with a stainless unit; the engine gets 2 1/2 gallons per hour. New A/C, battery charger. Everything works. Boat is easy to handle for even one person. Comes fully equipped. Covered slips available at my marina and the boat can stay in the water year round. There’s no need to move her- or I will assist with relocation voyage.

 We bought her 4 1/2 years ago- and the survey is from that time.  Weight is 28,000 pounds; beam is 12 feet.  The draft is 2 1/2 feet, max 12-13 knots, 185 hp, cruise at about 8-9 knots; 2 1/2 gallons diesel per hour at cruising speed.  The engine is a refitted Gray Marine diesel, single screw, barely broken in.  The bottom has not been epoxied, and is very sound and secure.  I had her taken down to the bare wood and 7 coats of sealer/paint/etc applied at a cost of $13K.  They did a really nice job- you can barely see the plank lines four years later.  I repainted the bottom with antifouling paint 16 months ago- although it’s basically fresh water at the top of the Chesapeake Bay where the boat is located.   The only issue in the survey was a leaky shaft log- which we had replaced with a stainless steel one- for $12K.  The boat is sound throughout.  She’s in a covered slip year round, with a bubbler system to prevent ice (bubbler comes with the boat, along with all accessories). She’s very easy to maintain- I do it myself.  I have the original manual for the engine, and the original advertising for the boat.  She sold for $20K in 1926. The boat won the Best Classic Yacht award in a 1995 boat show in Washington, D.C.

This is a classic and very functional motorcruiser at a great price.  The double bed in the aft stateroom, two heads, and beautiful kitchen- along with the sedan wheelhouse, make this a truly unique and original vessel.  We cruised the upper half of the bay with her, and never experienced any difficulties.  The $200K+ restoration photo album of more than 100 photos, and a 50-year plus captain’s log come with the package, along with a host of accessories, inclduing everything you need to head out for several months of excellent fall cruising.  In the warm pilothouse, we cruised year round except when the water froze over- extending the cruising season well beyond the norm. The boat has loads of storage closets and cabinets, a swim ladder, and a brand new refrigerator for lots of cold drinks and food for cruising.

HISTORY of how i obtained it:  My father and in 1981 started Mike’s Place, A bait shop in St. Augustine Fl. My father, me and my son spent many years fishing/boating together words can not describe the times we had together. 

                                                                      My dad had a stroke two years ago, my mother and i took very good care of my father, he was in wheel chair and 6’3. 

We cheerished every minute with him. we lost him 9 mths later. My mom was married to him 57 yrs, my son was crushed..Haven’nt fished/boated much since…. 

I moved to Key West in Sept 2011. (8-9 mths ago)

Wanting to build a new life and offer my son a nice place to come on spring break and summer vacation.
