Boat has been dry sailed, either from her trailer or kept on hydrohoist. Gelcoat is in very good condition no cracks or blisters. Deck is solid, no soft spots. The forward hatch is missing the hold down screws, I assume they were stolen because I cannot find them on the boat. The Starboard side bulkhead under the sidestay has a soft spot and needs to be filled in with epoxy. The portapotty bellows needs to be replaced. Bottom is painted with VC17 and does need a new coat. The boat is ready to launch and sail or race in it’s present condition. If you are not familiar with the S2 7.9 here is an article that gives a good description of the boat.Sails included are 2 Mains, 2 Genoas, 1 Jib, 1 Spinnaker. Sails are fine for cruising however you may what to buy a new suit of sails for racing. Includes 8hp Mariner long shaft, cockpit cushions, swim ladder, Danforth type anchor, boom kicker, main sail cover, tiller cover, running and anchor lights, Nexus tactical data compass, tandem axle regatta trailer with spare tire. With board and rudder raised boat will float right on to trailer without a tongue extensions, or can go into water as swallow as 13″ so you can access areas most other yachts would run aground. Boat was ordered from S2 with racing in mind and has been sailed according to class rules. Cabin has V berth and side bunks, interior lighting, Fresh water tank, cold storage, and sink. Head has canvass curtain instead of solid wooden door, and boat was built with minimal cabinetry for a light fast racing hull. Boat has had three owners and has participated in several national regattas. If you are looking to race a S2 7.9 then this is the ride for you. You are welcome to examine boat before you bid. Boat is currently being stored on her trailer at Windycrest Sailing Club on Lake Keystone just west of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Should you have any specific questions or want additional pictures please feel free to contact me. At end of auction, the successful bidder will need to deposit $150.00 in earnest money in my Paypal account. This money is to cover the cost of the auction, should the transaction fall through and is non-refundable. Buyer will need to bring the balance in a certifiable check (written on a bank that my bank can verify is good) when picking up the boat. It is expected that this transaction be finalized and boat picked up by the seventh day after the end of the auction. If buyer is unable to complete the transaction within this time frame then deposit will be forfeited and Boat will go back up auction. I don’t mean to sound like a jerk but the Boat is costing storage money and needs to be picked up ASAP.

Up for sale is a once in a lifetime chance to own an amazing pedigree yacht!! “Polly” was most likely the first private yacht commissioned after the end of WW2. She was built for the personal use of the master boat builder himself, HENRY B NEVINS. She is in 98% original condition, rigging was one year old when purchased in 1991 and she has been in storage since. the hull and frames are in great shape and she is at a reputable boat yard in Maine waiting to be replanked below the water line. I have a lot of documentation for this amazing vessel.

Nevins Boat Yard was known for producing the best quality pedigree yachts in the word, since this was Henry Nevins personal yacht only the best of the best materials were used for construction, every line and every joint is absolutely perfect. The cabin is teak, the joinery is the best you will ever find. The decks are tongue and groove teak, mast is arpx 68′ with a 28′ boom. This boat looks much nicer in person and is very solid, garboards are removed for clear frame and keel inspection. If you bought an average “project” boat you would have more than the buy it now price for Polly!

Her mast is in great shape but needs some minor attention, she does need a restoration, power and electrical, but everything in the interior, decking and planking above water line is in great shape. Has monel water tanks and keel bolts. The quote from the boat builder to replace all of the dead wood, planking and fasteners below the waterline is 75-95K, I estimate about an additional $150,000 to rewire, install a new diesel motor, new sails and to take care of the cosmetics such as paint, sanding and varnishing; that should also cover refinishing the mast and boom.

Here is a link to a fully restored pedigree Nevins yacht for sale, VIM is about 13′ longer than POLLY: http://www.yachtcouncil.com/boats-for-sale/type/Sail–Racing+Sailboat/Henry+B.+Nevins,+Inc./model/select-country/city/

Bidders from US and Canada only unless you contact me first

Should you wish to see her please contact me, she is an hour North of Boston, and an hour South of Portland,

The concept for the Formula One Class yacht developed following the exciting spectacle of 12 meter fleet racing off Fremantle in 1986 prior to the America’s Cup. An event was then designed around two concepts. The first was to attract the participation of the world’s finest yachtsmen and to focus international media upon them as they competed for a prestigious trophy and generous prize money. The second was to raise the profile on international yachting as a spectator sport and generate increasing support from sport followers. Thus emerged the event known as Formula One Class World Yachting Grand Prix which was immediately followed by the selection of the Formula One Class yacht designed by Tony Castro and Bruce Nelson to provide competitors and owners with a 52’ racing yacht with the essential feature of a one design class incorporating exciting performance, simplicity of layout and a sensible cost. This included the yacht’s transporter for ease of roll-on roll-off transport between venues. In the final regatta of the Formula One Class Grand Prix, December 1992, this boat raced in San Diego. Here’s your chance to win a piece of yachting history for a small price. Don’t let this opportunity get away. For additional information, please contact Ralphe Hughes at 619-232-1942.

1990’s model Capri 13 high performance sailboat built by Capri Sailboats (now a division of Catalina Yachts) complete with all rigging, good sail, very clean hull ( 8.5 on a 10 scale). The hull shines and the only known defects are a scratch on the transom (in one of the pics), some very minor spider cracks near the mast base which don’t show up in the pictures, and a missing nylon cover fr the hiking strap.

This is a well made and very fast boat. We bought it in May used it 3 times this summer. I

It has a daggerboard and kick-up rudder, and the stay-less, two part mast is easy to transport and set up quickly. The boat comes equipped with hiking strap, boom vang, long outhaul line (for access while sailing) and a twin cunningham rig that can be adjusted from either side of the boat. This is a high performance single-hander similar to a Laser that planes easily, even on a close reach, except that it is more stable and forgiving on all points of sail due to a slightly harder chine and slightly wider beam. The cockpit is also roomier and transom scuppers provide quick bailing with no tending. The sail has a zippered luff, and hoists on a halyard. This allows quick and easy dousing in a blow. There are two storage ports with nylon bags in the forward cockpit bulkhead, each large enough for a camera, gloves, extra line, boat license, etc..

The boat comes with everything you need to sail as soon as you pick it up and take it to a launch site. The galvanized trailer it is on was never registered and is best used for short hauls as it appears to be the original.

Local delivery for a fee is possible. Boat is in Galveston, Texas area.

On Aug-29-10 at 10:29:42 PDT, seller added the following information:

Note: I have been asked about the trailers condition. The frame is in excellent shape. All lighting and wiring is very good too. The tires are in very good condition. The leaf springs show significant surface rust. I originally wrote that the trailer is best suited for short hauls because the tires are very small, and I don’t know how good the hubs are. When I bought the boat at the beginning of the summer I did trailer it 50 miles to my house. I had no problems and the wheels were cool to the touch when I got there.

I will try to describe as best as possible. Any questions e-mail. Coast Guard Documented & MA Title. This is a 1971 Capital Yachts 27′ Newport Sailboat. Wheel Steering. I have owned this since 2002, and enjoyed each year. This was my first ocean vessel. It has served my wife and I well. But time to move on to a larger boat. This is a basic boat. Current condition. Converted to an outboard, lots of storage now in engine compartment. No outboard included, needs outboard and associate controls. With the removal of the inboard, the fuel tank was removed for more space. The water tank went foul so it was removed too. I would change all water lines. There is a galley sink, Head sink, and manual head with holding tank. Manual bilge. Head sail, main sail. Electrical should be re done, cabin lights do not work. Needs bow navigation light. Last season in the water was summer of 2008. Kept in Salem MA. Hauled to and from Salem MA – Hudson NH by Jocelyn Boat Hauler http://www.jocelynmarine.com every season. Always came home each fall. Bottom anti foul paint last done Spring of 2008. You may notice some wooden blanks placed over the cutout holes where the various removed engine controls and instruments once were. I have more pics. E-mail request for more pics, or questions. Be sure to include your e-mail in any ebay correspondnce. Boat is listed locally. I reserve the right to end auction early.

No reserve price and lower starting bid!

It is too fast for my son who is just learning to sail.

The Capri 13′s specifications are

On Aug-29-10 at 10:29:42 PDT, seller added the following information:

Note: I have been asked about the trailers condition. The frame is in excellent shape. All lighting and wiring is very good too. The tires are in very god condition. The leaf prings show significant surface rust. I originally wrote that the trailer is best suited for short hauls because the tires are very small, and I don’t know how good the hubs are. When I bought the boat at the beginning of the summer I did trailer it 50 miles to my house. I had no problems and tye wheels were cool to the touch when I got there.
